EL PASO -- The U.S. Department of Education, through its Minority Science Improvement Program, has awarded two federal grants worth $539,112 for collaborative projects between the University of Texas at El Paso and El Paso Community College to support under-represented students entering the fields of science, technology, engineering and math, U.S. Rep. Silvestre Reyes, D-Texas, said Friday.
